With excessive CO2 release being the biggest cause of global warming Avonaire has a policy to train all its engineers in the safe handling of all refrigerants. This obviously minimizes the emissions of HCFCs and CFCs to the environment. Once we have removed the Refrigerant this is taken to a recycler and a certificate is issued to us. A copy of this can then be sent to you for your files.

ACRIB www.acrib.org.uk have laid out reports to the government to try and minimize the release of refrigerant gases into the atmosphere. It is intended that all people handling refrigerants ie: breaking into systems, will need to be certified as competent and will need to be employed by (or themselves be) companies registered within a scheme managed by an overall board. The board will be industry lead and made up of representatives from all sectors of the industry but with government involvement.

Other key elements will be that it will be illegal to sell or transfer refrigerants unless you are a registered company, certification and registration will be approved by the above board. The refrigerants covered will be those with a global warming potential of more than 15, in other words all ozone depleting refrigerants plus HFCs.
